Yes, another blog. Yes, again about SQL Server. But, it’s mine.

As Brent Ozar wisely said, all the documentation is in Books Online, add yourself to that. So i will, hopefully 😉

As a support specialist business intelligence at Axians in The Netherlands i get to see lots of different servers and environments. Most of them are installed and left on their own, some are carefully maintaned. Every time i get to work at one of our clients, i get to learn stuff.

Besides that, my employer encourages me to learn and grow. That’s how i got from being a SAP BI generalist to a SQL DBA specialist with a strong focus on SAP Data Services.

In the near future i will share my experience with SQL Server and powershell, docker containers, Kubernetes and hopefully some Azure stuff.

So much to do…

Reitse began his computer days with GW Basic and quickly followed with Windows 3.11. After that many computers followed and, interrupted by human resource and psychology studies, he got into the IT work field around 2007. There he met Oracle 9. With a command line from 1980. At his current job he met SQL Server. And loved it. Now he’s working with SQL 2008 to SQL 2019 on-premises and a number of Azure SQL Databases, supporting customers and tuning databases. New projects focus more on the Azure data platform as an architect, security advisor and data engineer.
